- Project Description
- Cheltenham Primary School had a good amount of roof space from which to collect rainwater. When they spoke to us about their interest in helping educate students about sustainable water use by demonstrating it in their school, we were able to recommend and install slimline tanks and dual flush toilets.

- “As part of Cheltenham Primary School’s ongoing commitment to educating its students about
life in a sustainable environment, we commissioned Storm Water Australia to install four slimline
water tanks to harvest rainwater from our school roof. This water has subsequently been used in
the students’ toilet flushing system, as an alternative to the mains water supply. Storm assisted
the school to develop our project by providing sound advice and expertise. Installation of tanks
and dual flush toilets was completed efficiently. We are very pleased with the water savings that
have been made. With every 1mm of rain falling on 1sq metre of our roof, we are catching 1 litre
of water. The water savings so far, have been remarkable, with over 13,000 litres of potable
[drinking] water not being flushed down the drain.”
